Marqués’ tool has actually been out in open beta for over a month, but it’s today’s update that really caught my eye. By adding a little “plop” animation to tile placement, Map Sketcher gains an almost Townscaper-like quality that makes sculpting these dungeons an absolute joy. It can be a little fiddly at first, but within minutes I was bashing out multi-tiered sprawls deserving of any Skyrim contender. Of course, these hallways are a lot less vibrant than Stålberg’s procedural seasides, but there’s a charm to Sketcher’s almost architectural layouts - like I’m working at some kind of goblin construction firm, perfecting the blueprints for the dark lord’s evil lair....

So some games are free-for-alls, and some are team-based. And it has a load of silly costumes to customise your contestant, with even a Gordon Freeman one as a pre-order bonus. I’m up for these foolish games. Yeah it looks more chaotic than necessarily skilful, but it looks great for a party game. Round up the Plunklaaads on Discord, go pick up some eggs, get bowled over by fruit, get smashed in a maze, lovely....

I totally agree with Graham on being fully on board for Deathloop after seeing its latest trailer that shows off the mix of stealth and action. It really stole the show of the PlayStation showcase it was a part of. What made it extra memorable was the undeniably catchy theme song Déjà Vu by Sencit Music and FJØRA. Deathloop has you playing as an assassin stuck in a time loop on a wacky 70s-era island full of villain “Visionaries” who you’ll need to kill all in a single day in order to break the loop. That’s one part of the puzzle. The other part is that one of these visionaries is also an assassin whose job it is to kill you over and over again to protect that loop....

This time, though, you’re right at the heart of its central conflict. By casting players as Kathy, the daughter of one of those rogue astronauts, Deliver Us Mars tells a much more fraught and personal tale of what kind of future humanity should be pursuing: should we, in fact, be turning our efforts toward a life in outer space, or should we be doing everything in our power to try and save the dire, pretty much almost dead husk of a planet we call home?...

Beebz is out to conquer the Demon World, but unfortunately for her, the Demon King’s unwilling to abdicate peacefully, so we’ll be taking his throne by force. Using Forktown as our hub, Beebz begins carving out her own turf first, fighting four other gangs to become their leader. Each turf is split between seven stages that reward you with batteries upon completion. You’ll need these to power the King’s gate so you can bust it open, but collecting all seven will also draw out that turf’s respective boss, allowing you to expand your territory in the process....

And after living there for most of this week, I am prepared to lie down and let Death take me from here. Dice Legacy drove me goddamn insane. I’m biased.
