In Dig 1 and 2, for example, you played a robot who dug deep into the earth to find exciting treasures and old tech so you could return to the surface, upgrade your tools and dig further into the bedrock. The town above would often grow and develop in your absence, with new bots and shops rolling in as time went on, but it was more of a nice reward rather than anything you had direct control over....

See, Hyper Scape is employing what we in the biz call “doing a Valorant”. Publishers Ubisoft have wrangled up a number of “founders” to stream the game on Twitch. By tuning in, you’re putting yourself up for the chance of grabbing early entry into Hyper Scape’s arena. While it’s only been streaming for a few hours, what I’m seeing so far seems neat - a hectic run-and-gun-and-survive ’em up through the virtual streets of slightly-European sci-fi city New Arcadia....

Adding extra weight to this news is Kotaku, who reported on Thursday that Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot mentioned both projects in an internal company update last week, according to sources present. Kotaku also said the next single-player Far Cry will allegedly drop the series’ long-running Dunia engine, used by Ubisoft since 2008’s Far Cry 2. Dunia was originally spun out of original Far Cry developer Crytek’s CryEngine, but it’s claimed that Ubisoft have chosen to use their Snowdrop engine instead this time around....
