The Guardian Games Cup is new to the event for this year, with 42 teams of streamers from 14 global regions competing in two-hour slots over three weeks to dunk as many medallions as possible for their class at the Tower. All the digital violence is for a good cause too, as the Cup is partnering with humanitarian aid organisation Direct Relief to try to raise $300,000 (approximately £240,000) for people affected by poverty and emergencies....

As you’d expect from a life sim, Dreamlight Valley lets you dress your avatar how you like, make your own furniture, go fishing, do some gardening and play nice with the locals. That means a plethora of Disney favourites such as stalwarts Mickey Mouse and Goofy, along with relative newcomers from Pixar’s movies such as Moana and the characters from Frozen. Most interestingly though, you can take on quests for villains such as The Little Mermaid’s octopodean Ursula....

One small silver lining, though, is that Vanguard does feature split screen on consoles; so if you have access to a copy of the game on a current- or last-gen Xbox or PlayStation, you can still team up with a friend in couch co-op. V Rising already has co-op PvE and PvP servers, but a lot of players have been begging for an offline solo mode. Hammerting puts you in charge of a more vertically-stacked subterranean labyrinth. Your dwarves will, largely, do dwarf things - digging recklessly deeper, mining treasure, smelting ore and bringing the axe down on whatever malignant nasties lurk in the depths as their underground fortress expands. To help me test Death Stranding’s ultrawide monitor support, I’ve got in Asus’ ROG Swift PG35VQ to take it for a spin, and the results are pretty darn stunning. The monitor itself is Asus’ ultra-fancy 35in, 3440x1440, curved G-Sync Ultimate screen - their answer to AOC’s Agon AG353UCG for a bit of added context, and I’ll be writing up a separate review of the PG35VQ in the coming weeks. The good news is that you don’t need a super duper screen with all the G-Sync bells and whistles to get the most from Death Stranding’s ultrawide support, as it’s just the 21:9 aspect ratio that’s the key ingredient here....
