Doing away with Sega’s reckless reinvention of the spikey nuisance, Sonic Mania was a rare thing - bringing fans on to make a Sonic game wot harkens back to series’ good ol’ 2D roots. It worked, too, and now you can check it out as part of your monthly Origin subscription. I haven’t played much Mania (save for a weekend of Dundee sofa-surfing with a friend’s Switch) but it’s good fun....

Here’s the PC trailer: Spider-Man: Miles Morales has similar swinging, flipping and goon-punching to Spider-Man Remastered, but with the story instead focused on - obviously - Miles Morales. For the PC release, it’ll have the same upgrades that Remastered had, including ray trading, ultrawide support, and DLSS, DLAA and Nvidia Reflex support. (It’ll presumably also be verified for Steam Deck.) We spoke to developers Insomniac and Sony’s port specialists Nixxes about bringing Spider-Man Remastered to PC, including the challenges of translating Spidey’s swingfeel for mouse and keyboard....

Full support for all this is available on the public beta Steam desktop client, and they plan on rolling it out to Steam proper after some more testing. Death Stranding, No Man’s Sky, Horizon: Zero Dawn are mentioned as a few examples of games that fully support the controller, but any games that use the Steam Input API are fully compatible with it, “with no developer updates required,” they say....

The change was spotted and posted by SteamDB creator “xPaw”. Total War: Elysium’s store page now has a “request access” button for playtesting. “Request access and you’ll get notified when the developer is ready for more participants,” says the new store section.
