Details on Reka are still super light, and the Steam page mentions a release year of 2024, but I’ve been following Emberstorm’s Twitter intently, looking at all the cool gifs for Reka and the house looks incredible! For one, it’s huge. It towers above the forest trees and looks like it could easily stomp unwanted visitors to death. When the young witch approaches the towering beast, it bends is legs to sit down, almost burring itself in the earth for her access to the house on top....

A post on the Google Doodle blog gives the background on the project and on Lawson’s work at Fairchild Semiconductor in the 1970s. It was there that Lawson “led the development of the Fairchild Channel F system,” explains the post. “This was the first home video game system console that featured interchangeable game cartridges, an 8-way digital joystick and a pause menu. Patch 2.0.4., out now, also includes UI tweaks, crash fixes and improved AI during battles. The latter changes include everything from better pathing for units travelling through gates, better defending of walls, better movement for artillery, and more persistent attacks. Feral Interactive say they’ve worked directly with modders in making the changes....

The trailer features some intense battling between these four new factions led by the warlords Meng Huo, King Mulu, Lady Zhurong, and King Shamole: These tribes belong to the Nanman culture, and The Furious Wild will have some new missions and events to learn more about them. These tribes will bring 25 new units to play with, including those animal units you can see in the trailer. They’ll have a new tech tree and faction mechanics to boot....

There you are, a lutist, out to explore and summon five lost knights home by playing a special regal tune for them (do make a note of the notes when it tells you them). A lot is walking simulator-y, about wandering around, seeing what you can find, and enjoying the vibes....

Ubisoft explain that the new ‘History Edition’ of each game will support resolutions up to 4k, improve multiplayer running through Uplay with new features including matchmaking and desync recovery, bring them into 64-bit to shake off performance and stability problems like Anno 1404 running out of memory, and wham in the expansions and that. Anno 1503 didn’t have proper multiplayer before, and now it will. Surprisingly, they say saves from the original versions will be compatible with the new....

We consider MMOs with their subscriptions and expansions, and whether it’s a strategy that only works for PVE games or whether it would work for a competitive shooter like Overwatch. The chat then delves into competitors like Destiny and League Of Legends, and how they’ve handled growth....
