He’s challenged himself to find an infant called Baby Marie in the Fallout 3 The Pitt DLC and pull a big bad wolf on her ASAP. That wouldn’t usually be possible, but a mod called Acquired Immunity lets valut dwellers with the cannibal perk choose to eat the baby instead of stealing her from her crib....

Well, here it comes. Final Fantasy VI is getting the pixel remaster treatment on February 23rd. All of the classic 2D Final Fantasy games were previously available on Steam, but only as ports of the mobile versions which did horrible things to the original game’s pixel art. They were pulled from Steam last year, and remasters which perfectly maintain the original pixel art have been rolling out ever since. Originally released on the SNES in 1994, Final Fantasy VI is about a young girl with mysterious powers named Terra, a young man named Locke, and their escape from an evil Empire....

Everything is so decadent in Final Fantasy, I love it. The costumes alone would bankrupt a movie studio attempting ot make a live action adaptation. I’m also particularly fond of the boss who seems to tie adventures in ribbon, then unravels it to send them spinning away. Patch 6.1 will bring new main scenario quests, a 24-player alliance raid, a new residential area for players to buy houses in, and a bunch more....

Five Nights started in 2014 after someone told Scott Cawthon a character he made for another game looked like a scary animatronic. He’s said that almost made him give up on games, but he leaned into it. The series is about a chain of family restaurants with horrible animatronic animalfolk who come to life at night, and we play as the security guard they’re trying to murder with jump scares....

Hardsuit Labs, the studio that worked on Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2, appears to have laid off a number of staff. Multiple employees took to Twitter last night to reveal they’d lost their jobs, and it seems the entire narrative team have been affected. This comes just a week after Paradox Interactive announced Hardsuit would no longer be developing Bloodlines 2. “So unfortunately there were layoffs at Hardsuit Labs, and the entire narrative team including myself were affected,” narrative designer Nicole Stanford tweeted....

It’s been so long since I’ve played this game. But you know what? Fortnite Season 5 sounds like a party. It added everyone’s favourite bounty-hunting duo, Mando and Baby Yoda, and made a load of changes to its map and lore to boot. First off, we gotta talk about the big numbers. The world-eating in-game event that took place last night racked up a whopping 15.3 million concurrent players, while over 3 million more watched on from Twitch and YouTube....

The next update, 1.5, adds magic teapots though, so maybe this time I’ll return. The magical teapots are called Serenitea Pots, and are the gateway to the update’s new player housing system. Inside you’ll find Tubby, the teapot spirit, and a realm you can fully customise. You begin by choosing a style, modelled after the main game’s architectural regions, and then you can place buildings and furnishings. “As you travel around Teyvat, you will discover various furnishing blueprints, which can be used to make furnishings for your home,” explains a post on the PlayStation blog....

See the Assassin’s Creed deals at the Ubisoft Store So: first of all, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The full 2020 game that Alice called “a lively grab bag of all the best bits from Assassin’s Creed games past” has been discounted by 25%. That brings it down to $45 / £37.50, with more blinged out Gold and Ultimate Editions reduced to $75 / £63 and $90 / £75, respectively. The DLC Season Pass is also reduced as we mentioned before, with its 25% discount bringing it to $30 / £25....

Razer Blade Pro 17 gaming laptop bundle - £1800 from Ebuyer (down from £2400) I’m actually testing the Razer Iskur gaming chair as I type. I’ve been parking myself in it for a couple of weeks now, and it’s definitely a lot more comfortable than my old office chair I bought from Ikea. It’s a big old thing - I’m not sure I’m actually heavy enough to really make full use of its tilt feature, for example, as I have to properly push back from the tips of my toes instead of just leaning back like I can on my Ikea chair - but my back does feel pretty supported by it thanks to its built-in lumbar support....

I’ve snapped a few comparison shots (see below), and when upscaling to 1440p, the difference between FSR 2.0 and DLSS’ respective highest quality settings is barely visible. Neither are quite as sharp as native 1440p, but it’s a visible improvement on FSR 1.0, which was clearly the blurrier of the two upscalers in Santa Monica Studios’ fatherly deity-puncher. I also ran a quick series of benchmark tests on my personal PC (RTX 3090, Intel Core i9-10900K, 32GB DDR4) and found that FSR 2....

Following a few weeks of testing (sorry, “flighting”), the Halo Twitter account today confirmed that Bungie’s 2007 trilogy-closer is coming to PC next week. Last month, 343 opened testing up to all “Halo Insiders”. Having signed up on a whim back when they started porting these things to PC, I jumped in to play a bit of Halo 3 on PC. While it’s not gotten the (often quite iffy) remastering treatment bestowed on the first two, I’m glad to report that Halo 3 is still an absolute banger - a series high topped only by its jazzy standalone expansion, Halo 3: ODST....

To level up Infinite’s battle pass, you need to complete daily and weekly challenges to earn XP. Unfortunately, it sounds like you don’t get much XP at all for doing these, and to make matters worse, you don’t even get XP from simply completing games (which is an odd omission, almost every other shooter I can think of gives you an amount of post-match XP depending on your performance).
