Here’s some core specs. The Armada 25 is one for the competitive crowd, its 24.5in panel pairing a less demanding 1920x1080 resolution with a heightened 240Hz refresh rate. The bigger, 27in Armada 27 goes for a lower (but still plenty fast) refresh rate of 165Hz, and a 2560x1440 resolution. Both monitors support Nvidia G-Sync and standard AMD FreeSync, and use IPS panels apparently capable of 1ms response times. Icarus: First Cohort is a PvE session-based survival game by RocketWerkz, a studio founded by Dean Hall - the person who brought us DayZ. While in DayZ you attempt to survive through a zombie apocalypse, the idea in Icarus is that you’ve got a limited amount of time to explore a savage alien planet, grab resources, then hoof it back to your dropship and escape. If you don’t make it out alive, you lose everything....

According to multiplayer design director Geoffrey Smith, Farm 18 is an adaptation on the Shoothouse idea, with one central warehouse where chaos will concentrate. But the rest of the map is a rundown cement factory, allowing players who don’t want do dive straight into the heat some more room to manoeuvre. The Last Stand’s headline feature is, y’know, The Last Stand. Originally a map for L4D1’s Survival mode, here it’s expanded into a two-level campaign with a journey leading to the lighthouse then an actual escape at the end, rather than inevitable death of Survival. It’s not a huge campaign, only taking me about 35 minutes on my first try, but it was fun enough. Bit dreary, but I suppose that’s fitting....

A bit like playing the mayor of Bioshock Infinite’s soaring city, really. Just without all the time travel and, err, racism. I hope. Like any city builder, Airborne Kingdom has the usual problems to untangle. Build housing, manage supply chains, streamline infrastructure, that sort of thing. But unlike your Sim Cities, Airborne Kingdom also has you considering things like lift, balance, and fuel supply, very important considerations for city planners aiming to spit in the face of gravity....
