Announced way back at E3 2019, Deathloop is the next game from the folks behind Prey and Dishonored, we got our first proper look at Deathloop during Sony’s PlayStation reveal stream back in June - with the assumption it’d hit alongside the new console this winter. But it looks like the devs need a little more time of their own to bring Deathloop over the finish line. In what’s become an all-too-familiar line, Arkane Lyon today announced via Twitter that the transition to remoted working under the Covid-19 pandemic has pushed the game’s launch back into April-June 2021....

Bungie started sunsetting in 2020 alongside the launch of the Beyond Light expansion. At the time, they explained that “the game is too large to efficiently update and maintain”, so they needed to cut off older bits to keep it manageable. So they introduced the concept of the Destiny Content Vault, shuffling older parts in and out, including reintroducing some bits from the first game. The first sunsetting was huge, lopping off the base game’s whole big story campaign, the first two expansion campaigns, four whole locations, five raids, loads of multiplayer maps and modes, several secret missions, and more....

The details are laid out in a post on Steam. Chief among the changes is the ability to scrub through replays to particular points, which is useful if you’re watching someone good play and they can survive for a long time. It’s less useful to me, whose replays can be watched in the blink of an eye. See also: the new unique dagger added for players who have survived 1000 seconds or more....

According to the Steam announcement: “In the VR edition, you can control all the same systems, vehicles, and controls, from the bridge of the ACC Epsilon Carrier. Dredge’s most recent trailer has a great bait-and-switch. It starts with all the things you’d expect from a rustic, cartoony fishing sim: the gentle sounds of birds and waves, a cosy sunset, and a quaint seaside port. But when the sun fully sets, the trailer reveals more of what the game’s about. Our player character begins to trade larger and larger fish, until he hands in a catch that’s so deformed, it must be from a different plane of existence....

Spice Wars launched into Early Access at the end of April with four factions: the vaguely heroic by default House Atreides, creepy lads House Harkonnen, the always cool Fremen, and sneaky sorts the Smugglers. The multiplayer update is the first part of developers Shiro Games’ roadmap for Spice Wars, with a new faction lined up for summer as the next addition. It’s thanks to Mimic’s Veil, an item which makes you look like a random scenery prop appropriate to your location (similar to the Dark Souls spell Chameleon). A bug means that combining Mimic’s Veil with certain items (specifically, things which make your footsteps silent, like Crepus’s Vial talisman and the Black Knife armour) will cause your body to reappear in the middle of the prop.
