When will the buddy pass be available in Rainbow Six Extraction? Originally planned to be a feature upon launch, Rainbow Six Extraction’s buddy pass system has since been delayed. A Tweet from the official Rainbow Six Extraction Twitter account announced that the feature will be held back until “shortly after launch”, with an update including exact dates expected “within a few days of the game release”. This won’t have any impact on your buddy pass entitlements, but it does mean you can’t use them immediately, which is potentially frustrating news for squads who were hoping to try out the game together on launch....

There’s a bit of a twist to this Secure Area mode, where players are able to do a thing the devs call “Morphing”. For Attackers, this means you’ll be able to turn into your little drone that you’d usually send out at the beginning of a round. You’re actually able to freely switch between being said drone and your Operator, but it’s not entirely clear what happens if you get shot at as your tiny droney self....

You’ll have to apply said grips yourself, mind, as they only come bundled in the box as a set of tapes for you to stick on manually at a later date. There are tapes for both sides of the mouse as well as the right and left mouse buttons, and Razer say they can absorb sweat as well as provide extra grip. Personally, I think it’s a shame they don’t come pre-applied, if only for the sake of neatness, but at least you have the option of sticking them on later if you feel like you need a bit more purchase on its svelte plastic chassis....

With yesterday’s update, Rocket League went free-to-play on the Epic Games Store, with the slight catch that you can no longer get it on Steam. You can still play it there if you own it, though, and and progress is now shared between Steam, Epic and consoles by linking accounts. Follow recent reports that Rocksteady Studios failed to sufficiently address sexual harrassment, the Batman: Arkham developers have responded in a most curious way. While they have yet to issue a public statement themselves, they have posted an “unsolicited letter” from some of the employees behind the 2018 letter which first raised the issues. The new letter’s writers say they think Rocksteady have been better than was alleged. But without meaningfully addressing the allegations themselves, Rocksteady just casually posted that letter on Twitter....

Alas, we were hoping to bring you a dedicated PAX Rising Showcase round-up video today, but we only managed to make it half way round this morning, as there were just oodles of people on the show floor today. Saturday tickets were completley sold out this year, so we’re going to have to head back tomorrow to finish things off. Still, we talk about plenty of highlights in today’s round-up, including my personal highlight The Wreck (the next game from the makers of Bury Me, My Love), as well as Metroid-like Rusted Moss, musical deckbuilder Power Chords, and cyberpunk heist RPG Cyber Knights: Flash Point, which is developed by the Star Traders: Frontiers devs....

We started the day by getting back out to the PAX Rising Showcase. We only managed to play around half of the ten curated games there yesterday due to the massive crowds, but today was a lot quieter, making it easier to jump on those last remaining demos. We’ll be putting together a full PAX Rising run-down in the coming days, but here we talk about a couple more of our top highlights....

It’s difficult to appreciate the scale of the Larian booth from down on the ground, but as you may have seen from our daily round-up video yesterday, we got the chance to go up to the convention centre catwalk in the afternoon and view the entire floor from the rafters. From above - as you can see in the header image up the top there - Larian’s stand is really quite impressive, housing rows of PCs inside the city while other attendees queued up outside....

These keys have kindly been provided by Have A Nice Death’s publisher, Gearbox Publishing, to celebrate the game’s latest update. Dubbed the Fast Food update, this adds a whole new world to the game that’s been overrun by deadly foodstuffs, including big bad monster burgers, muscly utensils and more. It also adds new difficulty modes, the option to recycle old weapons for extra bonuses, and new paths to take after completing special challenges....

The new DLC pack adds a bunch of very relaxing items for taking a rest on your survival island. The Boogie Board and Inner Tube are vehicles that you can use to putter around in any body of water, including the new kiddo Paddling Pool and larger Above Ground Pool. You can rinse your friends with a water pistol or a full pump action soaker. There are sunglasses, which apparently do nothing but make you look flash while you relax on a new recliner beneath an umbrella....

Teased during the Opening Night Live showcase earlier tonight, This Time It’s Virtual’s full trailer aired later with a fuller picture of the crime-fighting duo’s VR capers. With roots as a comic strip back in the 80s, Sam & Max have a fond place in point n’ click fans’ hearts thanks to LucasArts’ stellar 1993 adventure Sam & Max Hit The Road. A pre- The Walking Dead Telltale Games took a shot at following up the series in the late-00s, but from what I can gather, they never quite lived up to that 90s gem....

I sat in a 20-minute presentation of the game and tried my level best to understand SEGA’s stab at a live-service FPS. Instead, I exited the booth with whiplash… and a sense of curiosity. Somewhere inside the game’s insufferable tone is a kernel of cleverness, I just need to get my mitts on it to confirm my suspicions. Otherwise, it’s very difficult to really understand whether it can survive in such a saturated space....
