This Artist Is Turning Twitter Gifs Into Charming Microgames

After all - they’re only gifs. Gif games aren’t spectacularly new. You’ll have seen them if you spend any time on the social hellsites - throwaway little timewasters to find out what Disney princess you are, what Harry Potter house you’re in. That sort of guff. Oono’s account even starts with a few of these less-interactive novelties, albeit with bucketloads of hand-drawn charm in discovering what hairstyle you’ll wake up with....

This Indie Game Is About Organising Household Items

A Little To The Left is due to launch later this year, and has a demo on Steam and Itch right now. It has us sort, stack, straighten, and otherwise arrange household objects like books and pencils and papers, sometimes dealing with the interfering paw of a cat who really wishes to play with that table placemat right now. I was enjoying the demo up until the level with keys to organise....

This Is What Amd S First Big Navi Graphics Card Looks Like

AMD revealed the design on Twitter last night, along with the invitation for players to “study every angle yourself on our Fortnite Creative Island,” which you can get to at the following address: 8651-9841-1639. Go there, and you’ll find a giant graphics card floating in the sky above a vast ocean. The card appears to have a regular 2x 8-pin power connector, proving that only Nvidia’s RTX 3000 series Founders Editions will likely use their special 12-pin connector this generation, as well as single HDMI and USB-C outputs along with two DisplayPort outputs....

This New Fall Guys Level Looks Like Torture

The video jumps around to different Fall Guys quite a bit but you can piece together a vision of the entire level by the time it’s through. It starts out with an upward trek through some sparingly-placed spinning axes but quickly goes downhill—literally—from there. There are rolling logs with spikes to sprint across, a downward slime slide through some much more devious axes, big spikey rollers that may push you through holes in the floor, and lastly some tricky drawbridges....

This New System Shock Footage Shows That It S Chill Out There In Space

It’s quite a vibe. I’m so used to modern FPSes spamming perks, and spaceships feeling like haunted houses, that this stands out. If it wasn’t for the lumbering beasts attacking you, it could be an art exhibition sponsored by an LED light company. The relaxing sound track adds to the ASMRy feeling. There are tingles that aren’t always of terror. It’s a little bit dark, but I guess that’s space for you....

This Week S Best Gaming Laptop Deal Is A Lenovo Legion 5I Pro 16 W Rtx 3070 Ti

Get a Lenovo Legion 5i Pro 16 for £1440 (£60 off w/ code AUG15) We’ve covered Lenovo Legion laptops on this deals beat before, so let me give you the CliffsNotes version: these are rather excellent gaming laptops, with an appearance that is more ‘high-end professional creator’ than ‘15-year-old-gamer’. Inside though, you get rather sterling performance, backed up with good trackpads, great screens (especially these 16:10 1440p models!), and arguably the best keyboards amongst gaming laptops....

Three More Ubisoft Executives Resign Following Allegations

Ubisoft today announced that another three executives have resigned as the company continue trying to deal with the recent allegations of serious and widespread harrassment and abuse. The three stepping down are chief creative officer Serge Hascoët, global HR head Cécile Cornet, and Yannis Mallat, the managing director of Ubisoft’s Canadian studios. This comes a few days after the resignation of Maxime Béland, vice president of Ubisoft’s Editorial department. I was sceptical when Ubisoft first announced their desire to improve, but I can’t deny some big changes are happening - Hascoët was one of the most powerful men at Ubi....

Til There Was A Jackass The Game

It’s almost more of a cultural artefact than it is a film. Arguably, when your child asks you “Papa/mama, what were the early 2000s like?” you could do worse than showing them Jackass, with no further explanation. And from this I became very interested in the history of Jackass, and discovered that there was a PS2 era video game called Jackass: The Game. If you’ve never encountered it, Jackass was a TV show on MTV that aired for three series, starting around 2001, in which a bunch of 20-something men did things like putting a beehive in a limo, or hitting each other in the dick with things....

Time Travelling Bite Sized Fps Chop Goblins Is The Next Game From Dusk S Dev

Chop Goblins puts you in the slightly dodgy shoes of someone who’s broken into the local museum to rummage amongst the artefacts inside, only to accidentally free the titular nasty goblins from a trunk in the basement. Favourite goblin pastimes include chopping all and sundry up with meat cleavers, so you’ll have to track them down and put them down. Szymanski’s crammed a bunch of distinct time periods into the FPS game to pursue the chop goblins through, from the present day to 1800s Transylvania, ancient Greece, and the near future....

Titanfall 2 Just Crashed Onto Steam

If your knowledge of Respawn shooters begins and ends with Apex Legends, let me be the first to welcome you to the cockpit. Think ApeLegs, but faster, deadlier. Tighter arenas, wall-running, and 25-ton battlemechs. The first Titanfall had some neat ideas regarding multiplayer narratives - maps playing out over a pseudo-campaign between the Militia rebels and the industrial fascists of the IMC. But it’s the second one people really remember....

Turns Out Stray S Cryptic Code Language Isn T All That Hard To Decipher

You can find out how to read the code here. Stray’s code language is a substitution cipher then. Each letter of the Latin alphabet is replaced with another symbol, although there seems to be a few different symbols for P and E. Not everything written in Stray does make sense though. Wirtanen points out that signs that appear hand-painted are reused for a variety of meanings, and sometimes rotated, so they don’t seem to have any real sense to them....

Twitch Has Added A Category For Livestreams Of Animals

At the time, no cable provider liked the idea enough to make it happen, but I think about the story a lot. I think about it on days like today, on which Twitch has just introduced a new “Animals, Aquariums, and Zoos” category to the livestreaming platform. The new category was introduced as part of Twitch’s Animal Week, and their blog post on the topic highlights some streams where you can interact with the animals live....

Valorant S New Map Fracture Sounds Like A Defender S Nightmare

Fracture doesn’t quite have the same pretty aesthetic as the last map Breeze, though they’re clearly trying to do away with some of those boring browns and greys with an overgrown jungley area. Developers Riot Games say this is the first map with “interactive objects” (though they don’t say what any of those are), and it’s also the first map set in “the mirror verse”, an alternate dimension that evil (?...

Valve Loses Steam Controller Patent Infringement Case

Ironburg were awarded a patent in 2014 for a controller that “has two additional controls located on the back in positions to be operated by the middle fingers of a user.” The Steam Controller had buttons on its rear in that position. SCUF Gaming are the makers of custom controllers, several of which feature remappable buttons on the back as per the patent. “Valve did know that its conduct involved an unreasonable risk of infringement, but it simply proceeded to infringe anyway — the classic David and Goliath story: Goliath does what Goliath wants to do,” Ironburg’s lawyer argued, as reported by Videogames Chronicle....

Vampire Survivors Will Hit 1 0 On October 20Th Move To New Engine By End Of Year

Although reaching 1.0 means leaving early access, it’s also not the end of Vampire Survivors development. Work on porting the game to a new engine continues with the aim to “release it by the end of the year.” The news posted to the Vampire Survivors Steam page says that, since patch 0.11.3 fulfilled promises made in the last released development roadmap, they don’t feel the need to say what’s to come in version 1....
