The game follows Hana, a less grumpy fox, as she journeys through seven different dreamscapes based on her memories. From the trailer we can see levels inspired by an autumnal forest, a psychedelic reimagining of space, and a level made entirely out of different foodstuffs. The endearing art style has a lo-fi polygonal look that made the PSX and Sega Saturn era so recognisable, and if the music in the trailer is anything to go by, the soundtrack should be just as timeless....
As of today, it now has a PvP battle mode to enable friends to pit their decks against one another. It’s either making a good thing better, or it’s the beginning of the end of all the things I mentioned above. Snap’s battle mode is designed to allow “highly competitive, friend vs. friend play.” Pals who want to play together will need to share their ‘battle code’ with each other in order to get started....

I went ahead and loaded up the snapshot, as you can see up top there, to toss about a few of the new blocks. I threw down some new cut cupper building blocks, the fancier version of a plain copper block. It comes in fresh copper color but will oxidize over time, turning green. The game has you play as a Coromon trainer on a journey to collect some monsters, form a squad and defeat some evil baddies who want to release a dark power onto the world. Sounds familiar. It features turn-based combat, and loads of character customisation, and even difficulty levels. According to the trailer there are randomisers and built-in Nuzlocke modes (like permadeath modes if your monsters get knocked out), which are always good fun to mess around with....
In a developer video, Shiny Shoe dig into all those new bits. At a glance, they say that The Last Divinity will add a sixth clan, the Wurmkin, with its own cards and artifacts. All the existing clans will get some new rare cards as well. It will also bring a new currency called Shards, which give benefits as you collect them but will also put you up against more difficult enemies....

In a DMCA notice posted last week, a representative for Nicalis called for the entire Cave Story Engine 2 repository (which included various editions of the fan-made edition) to be stricken from the site. From the looks of things, they’ve been successful.
