With the main payment methods on Steam currently disabled for users in Russia, Four Quarters explained people had been asking how they could buy Loop Hero these days, and suggested a simple solution if would-be customers can’t get anything to work....

The intended release date for Marvel’s Avengers was initially set for the 15th of May, but has now been pushed all the way back to the 4th of September. Crystal Dynamics announced the bad news in a statement on Twitter, saying: Square Enix look like they’re having some issues too, as FFVII’s PS4 debut has been pushed back from the 3rd of March to April 10th - just one week after the release of the Resident Evil 3 Remake, and six days before Cyberpunk 2077....
Midnight Suns was supposed to launch in March, then slipped until October. It was then announced last month that it had been delayed until “later this fiscal year”. It now has a specific release date again. The new release date was announced as part of D23, Disney’s multi-day event in which they announce the new versions of the million things they own. “Personal Boundary prevents avatars from coming within a set distance of each other, creating more personal space for people and making it easier to avoid unwanted interactions,” the company, formerly called Facebook, wrote in a post introducing the feature. Previously other players’ hands would disppear if they got too close to your avatar, but now their whole avatar will be unable to reach within 4-feet of you. The new feature is always-on by default, and Meta will “explore the possibility” of letting people customise its size in future....
The game’s getting a seasonal progression track with a free and paid version (essentially its own sort of battle pass). By doing various challenges you’ll earn Adventure points that level this up, rewarding you with cosmetics, emotes and other goodies to deck out your character. It’s a pretty forgiving battle pass system too. If you don’t manage to finish one by the end of a season, you’re not locked out of it, and can choose to spend points in older tracks....

The sniffer was thought to be extinct, but you’ll be able to find its eggs hidden in chests in underwater ruins. Lug them back to the surface to hatch them and you’ll acquire your own baby sniffer. Raise it, and the sniffer will help find ancient seeds....
Developers 24 Entertainment say that Bloodsport is a melee-only mode that they believe will entice fighting game fans. “With increased melee resistances, fights will offer a deeper back and forth action pattern with more chances of outplays and last-minute comebacks,” they say. “Players will be able to use their normal ability—but ultimates are disabled.” Unlike the usual battle royale format, which can get pretty drawn out, Bloodsport rounds will be 75 seconds apiece....
Details of The Last Of Us Part 1’s features trickled out at first this week, but more and more started to drop online yesterday. The leaks have shown the game’s intro, control layouts and accessibility options, and combat. Needless to say, Naughty Dog weren’t best pleased that information about the game was finding its way out into the wild. Naughty Dog’s vice-president Arne Meyer tweeted that the leaks “really suck” when he shared the new video....
Season two will launch on Netflix on December 17th. It’s part of a growing collection of Witcher media being producing by Netflix, including the anime film The Witcher: Nightmare Of The Wolf released earlier this year and an in-development live action prequel series called The Witcher: Blood Origin. A season three and “kid-friendly” series are also in development. There’s a lot of portentous nonsense in the above trailer, foretelling of a doomed world, doomed characters, and various grave encounters with different kinds of monsters....
If the name of the update didn’t give it away, it’s about swamps. It includes a new region called Ludern that’s been “inspired by Scottish landscapes.” There are also patch notes for an update that’ll expand crafting, add some new additions to the combat, and bring some more general balancing changes too. The Elite Strap is one of the many extra accessories available for the Quest 2, and must be bought separately to the main headset. On its own, it costs another £49 / $49, but it’s also available as part of an additional battery and carry case bundle for £119 / $119. I’ve only tested the former, so I can’t say how the extra weight of the battery affects the overall ergonomics of the headset, but unless you constantly find yourself running out of power during a typical play session, I’d recommend sticking with the regular Elite Strap if you want to dramatically improve your overall VR experience....

Bastion first disappeared a week ago when Blizzard announced he’d be “taking a quick trip to the workshop” to have some work done on his ability kits. The robot hero was withdrawn from all play modes, and hasn’t been seen since. Scrolling through Overwatch Twitter and the subreddit pops up messages from players who want proof of life, miss him and want him back, or are appealing for information. Someone even wrote him a song....
Overwatch 2 introduces a new hero, Sojourn, and reworks several others, as Jai detailed last month. There’s a Beta Bash livestream on the PlayOverwatch Twitch channel tomorrow at 11am PDT/7pm BST showing off both Sojourn and the new 5v5 teams. Blizzard described Ramattra’s ultimate goal as being “to protect his people”, the Omnic robots, “but the cost of that goal is still to be determined.” From the video above, the cost seems to be: murdering all the humans. If you play as Ramattra, you’ll do that via his two forms. In Omnic Form, Ramattra is more like a DPS hero, hassling enemies while fighting from a distance. If you switch into Nemesis form, however, Ramattra is a close-range brawler....
