For PC folks, cross-play sounds like it’s going to be a pretty hassle-free change. If you play Overwatch on PC you’ve already got a Battle.net account. Console players will have to create one, or link their existing one to their console account. Once done though, that’ll allow you to invite them to group up together for matchmaking. Game director Aaron Keller goes into a couple examples here in Blizzard’s announcement....
Online multiplayer was quietly reintroduced to Battlefront this week, along with support for a number of languages and several undisclosed bug-fixes related to screen size (thanks, Eurogamer). When it launched in the hazy days of 2004, Battlefront supported massive online 64-player battles. But like many other games, those battles ceased when service provider Gamespy shut down in 2014. Like its 2005 sequel, Star Wars: Battlefront II, you could still sorta play matches through some hacky workarounds, or else stick to the actually-quite-good bot matches....
But this is a feature, not a bug. Pendragon is designed to be replayed many times, as many different Arthurian heroes. Indeed, I would have thrown myself back into it a lot less if it took much longer to complete my noble quest. Not that I complete it often, in the strictest sense of the word. Like, yes, I may get to Camlann, but Mordred usually beasts me because Pendragon is pretty hard....

I’m sure Persona 5 Strikers will split the crowd somewhat: it doesn’t feature a full turn-based combat system, there’s very little social stuff in here, and it’s about a third of the length of the PlayStation exclusive....

In a post on the game’s site, it’s explained that when first teasing the new continent, PlanetSide 2 only had a development team of 6 people. They’ve since focused on other, more urgent features, as well as growing the team, and now feel ready to undertake the challenge. The Enhanced Edition has all the technical improvements you’d expect from a repackaged version, including fancier textures and, for our console pals, support for 4K resolutions and a 60fps frame rate. Load times are improved in the Enhanced Edition too, which is handy since you’ll be dying a lot in true Soulslike fashion. The only other minor difference between the editions is that the free Rotten Autumn update is automatically included in this Enhanced version, rather than being a separate download....

Unfortunately, foxes don’t have the luxury of taking it easy - those tiny tummies are rumbling, and you can’t just nip over to the nearest bin for a half-eaten baguette. While it might not be the best of the series, she reckons it’s by far the most “interesting, experimental and important” entry in Square Enix’s venerable franchise....
That really should be a minor slight. It’s not you, Roguebook, it’s me - but also it’s definitely you, a bit. Same goes for all the other videogames. We’re in the same conceptual territory as min-maxing, where you turn your RPG character into a boringly-good damage dealer who can evaporate anyone they look at, but never uses that interesting-but-suboptimal polymorph spell. You wind up sacrificing novelty for efficiency, levelling up your spinning hammer attack until every NPC looks like a nail....
That’s a real shame, in my opinion. Because Roguebook is great. I know this, because in the three days I have spent with it, I have not touched Hearthstone once. I have had neither the desire, nor the compulsion which usually subs in for it, to even get so far as opening the launcher. And when a card game gets me to the extent where I’ll tear that IV drop of poisoned ambrosia from my veins, I know it’s the real deal....
In fairness, there was a big Lego man repping Thunderful’s Lego Bricktales that came a very close second to the Chernobylite babies, but the true horror of it can only be conveyed in audio visual form. He had a big red voice button, you see, and… well, you’ll have to watch our daily round-up video to see it for yourself. On a lighter note, TinyBuild had a truly wonderful stand for Alice Bee favourite Potion Craft, the crinkly herb mix ’em up alchemist simulator that launched into early access last year....
Fishing and shark battling is certainly one new kind of survival, but Rust’s Going Deep update also adds procedural underwater dungeons to explore and submarines to get there in. You can spot all of it down here in the new update trailer: It all sounds rather involved, honestly. A far cry from bashing enemies with stone tools, these underwater labs have CCTV cameras and PA systems for you to scout out their hallways and give directions to your pals....
Here’s the new update video covering all the major features: The update adds a new building, the Blueprint Designer, through which you can plan structures that you can then build via a single click. Blueprints have size limits - “4 by 4 Foundations and 8 Walls in height” - but once constructed, they can be accessed via a Blueprints Build Menu tab or added to your hotbar like any other construction....
