Jett: The Far Shore has this tantalising premise. You play as a scout and “Anchorite” called Mei, who’s been chosen by her community to explore this mythical ocean planet. Anchorites believe that this watery globe is home to the sacred “Hymnwave”, a sound so delightful it promises sanctuary from impending oblivion. So you leave your folks behind, strap into your jett ship, and set off in search of this heavenly tune....

Here’s the video: The fella with the spider skills is based around quick, agile attacks. That means you’ve got a bunch of cards you can play which are “free”, which means they don’t drain Heroism, which is Midnight Suns’ equivalent of action points. You also have lots of attacks that use the environment to cause damage, like spin-kicking crates into goons’ faces. In the fight shown above, the player deploys the Opportunist card, which allows Sir Spides to perform two environmental attacks for free....

Man, I always thought No Man’s Sky wasn’t for me, then they add something super cool like this. No Man’s Sky’s expeditions are kinda like the game’s version of seasonal missions. Each time one launches, players have a limited amount of time to complete certain goals to earn some goodies. The pilots behind MSFS laid out their future plans in a developer update earlier today. Laying out a development roadmap (flightmap?), the MSFS team revealed that a third World Update is coming on January 28th. With the last two jetting off to Japan and the United States for a round of improved terrain mapping, custom-build airports and a slew of new landmarks, we can expect all parts of the UK to receive the same treatment in the new year....

Developers Asobo Studio announced the news on Twitter yesterday, saying “World Update 3 is in its final polish phase and is now locked in for release on Tuesday, February 16th. The team is putting the finishing touches on all aspects of this massive update, and we appreciate your continued patience.” World Update 3 is a major one. London, Cambridge, Oxford, Birmingham, and Bristol are getting the photogrammetry treatment. Over 70 new points of interest are being added, as well as five new airports....

The Microsoft Minesweeper Ugly Sweater shows a Minesweeper grid in the shape of a Christmas tree and snow-capped mountains. I’ve had a look, and the numbers on the grid do seem to line up with a real game of Minesweeper too. It has the UI too, with scores (well, years), the reset button, and the minimise/maximise/close buttons. I don’t go for novelty Christmas garb myself but it’s pretty decent as it goes....

I loaded up the experimental snapshot myself today and if all these major world gen changes are a bit unsettling to you, don’t worry. I didn’t immediately find myself chucked into some floating island nullverse world. It’s still definitely Minecraft, albeit with mountain-ier mountains and cave-ier caves. Some other folks have put in the time to look for and share their seeds for neat 1.18 finds though. Here’s one particular world, shared on Reddit, that really shows off some of the wild multi-level cave generation going on in 1....

The Nether’s the place you get through by building an Obsidian portal. So far it’s been a big ol’ lavahole with some baddies to fight and NPC fortresses to plunder but it wasn’t too interesting. Now you’ll get to visit the blue fungal Warped Forest biome, the red fungal Crimson Forest, the barren and fossil-strewn Soulsand Valley, and ashen Basalt Deltas. The Piglin live here too, a wary NPC civilisation of pigmen who’ll attack on sight unless you’re wearing shiny gold armour to win their greedy trust....

By April, Monster Hunter: World will be synced across all platforms, with new updates arriving for all players at once. The lawsuit filed in California says that Jane Doe was pressured to take tequila shots on her first day, as reported by Bloomberg Law. It also says that she was later pressured to participate in “cube crawls” during which women were subjected to sexual comments and groping.
